Mini Glass Stud Earrings Made from Whisky Bottles Handmade by Helen Chalmers

Helen specialises in the use of hot glass and supplementary materials created in an oxygen/propane mix flame with a technique known as 'lampworking'.

These NEW studs are so unique, instead of being made from the usual Murano glass base, these earrings are made from Scottish Whisky Bottles! Helen breaks up the bottle and melts the glass down bit by bit adding the hypoallergenic steel backs in the flame as usual. These have a slick of gold leaf melted to the front of them or Palladium or kept plain. 

Made in a torch flame and carefully annealed in a kiln overnight to prevent any breakages these earrings would be perfect to complement an outfit or as a little gift to someone. The backs are Surgical Steel, a completely safe and hypo-allergenic metal. The steel backs are fused into the glass while it is still hot, so no glue is needed.

• Approx size of glass varies between 4 - 6 mm, but is consistent within the pairs.
